Comic Book Club (CBC) is the flagship program of our Hawkins Family Foundation. CBC began at Coquillard Elementary School on the westside of South Bend, IN, in the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year, and has been going strong ever since. CBC is a 5-week program offered each semester, which utilizes comic books and the superhero genre to promote reading skills, reading comprehension, writing skills, storytelling, and artistic expression. CBC supports the educational experience of each child through fun and diverting activities which help the students grow and bring them joy while they are learning, dreaming, and creating.
